Tommy has over 20 years of venture capital research and fund investment experience. Tommy manages and leads the firm’s overall investment activities, with an emphasis on TMT. Before co-founding Unicorn, Tommy was the Partner & Head of North Asia at Emerald Hill Capital Partners, where he led sourcing, due diligence and monitoring of venture capital and private equity funds in China. Specifically, he backed first-time and emerging venture capital managers who have become some of the top-tier brands in China today. Tommy started his career as an tech entrepreneur but failed, and then joined the AVCJ Group as its early member and Head of Research, where he specialized in researching funds, deals, exits and investors in the early days of private equity industry in Asia. Tommy holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Accounting Management from Indiana University at Bloomington.

As a Fine Arts dropout, Tommy is the Art of the firm and our Creative Director. Between chasing the next 10x fund, longboarding and winning at table tennis, he brings energy and excitement to the team.
